Transportation to/from Cascade Locks
The Cascade Locks Airport is owned by the Department of Oregon Aviation. It is located just one mile from Cascade Locks, an easy walk to access lodging, restaurants and scenery nearby.
Cascade Locks Airport is considered a “warning” airport due to its size and length (1800′ long and 30′ wide). A “warning” airport is used mainly for emergency landings and/or experienced flyers with very specific information on airports.
The Cascade Locks airport is centrally located by the Columbia River Gorge. While the approach on the west end isn’t dangerous, it’s the east that may cause problems as it’s obstructed by many trees and fair steep approach. Turbulence is also an issue when flying in the Columbia River Gorge due to its constant windy conditions.
